New Cooperation: Nortal and MODI!

New Cooperation Nortal and MODI will focussing on the Future of the Ports

After the Paperless Airport, the German company MODI GmbH is now also focusing strongly on the port of the future. The paperless port could therefore soon no longer be music of the future. This development, necessary in the digital age for the maritime economy, will be carried out by MODI together with Nortal. Nortal is a strategic partner in the digital transformation of the world’s leading companies and authorities and already has enormous experience in digital strategy for ports and the cruise industry, as well as in the maritime cargo sector. The fully digital port in Estonia is a flagship project of Nortal and is considered the most digital port in the world.

MODI has specialised in biometric systems and identity validation tools for commercial and government applications around the world for over 20 years.

Both companies now want to combine their competencies and jointly drive the port of the future with innovative, secure and smart products. Nortal is to be the integrator here, incorporating the smart biometrics products into the digital concepts. The far more convenient boarding option for passengers is just one of the advantages of biometric facial recognition. Matching with passport data and secure identification also facilitates significantly more security and better flow for the border authorities at the corresponding checkpoints in the ports.

Now they are already working on a first concept with integrated biometric facial recognition in ferry ports and for cruise terminals.

Both companies are sure that with the joint product range and digital concepts, they will make the port of the future extremely secure, smart and passenger-friendly.
